Who is behind HF Holdings?

HF Holdings was founded by Basil Hamdan, who still runs it today as President. He did not set out to be a debt collector. He grew up in a first generation immigrant family in the restaurant business, where he learned early that you earn what you get and you pay what you owe. After college he moved to Florida, worked long hours in commission only sales, and answered a Craigslist ad mostly because it offered a base salary. It turned out to be a job at a collection agency, an industry he barely knew existed.

He learned it from a collector with more than twenty years in the business, and he outworked the room. Within a year he was running most of the operation, from hiring and training to fixing systems and handling clients. Around year four he realized he understood the work well enough to build something of his own, so he opened his agency. His view of it is simple. A company delivers the product, performs the service, and holds up its end, and then sometimes it does not get paid. Payroll and rent still come due. Fixing that is real work, and it is worth doing well.

Basil also believes knowledge should not stop with him. Several of his former employees have gone on to start their own agencies, and he helped his brother and his brother in law launch theirs. That mix of hands on collections experience and a genuine interest in doing right by clients is what shapes how HF Holdings works every day.
